The Scholar plans to focus on the energy efficiency issues in the production process of unconventional natural gas (shale gas or coalbed methane). The work may include the following:
- To find more reasonable evaluation methods for the oil and gas (including coalbed methane and shale gas) industry in China, which should take into account economics, environment, and energy production and consumption efficiency.
- With appropriate methods, a comparative study of coalbed methane and shale gas energy efficiency in China is able to be carried out. Accordingly, the results of the comparative analysis can be used to improve industrial policies.
- Based on the data in unconventional natural gas industry in the United States, a comparative study of shale gas (or coalbed methane) in China and in the United States can be carried out, providing information to investors, business administrators, and policymakers for reference.
